Fox School Site Council

Are you interested in representing parents' and kids' interests at Fox School?

Would you like to participate in developing student achievement plans?

Are you concerned about improving communications between parents, staff, and teachers?

Please consider representing parents and children at Fox School by joining the Fox School Site Council. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the school and help contribute to its continued academic success.

The Fox School Site Council is a group consisting of the principal, selected teachers, other staff members, and parents responsible for overseeing certain budget and academic programs. The Site Council normally meets on the second Thursday of the month from 3:30 to 5:00.

The Fox Site Council addresses many important issues, including:
  • Developing and reviewing the Single Plan for Student Achievement (the basic roadmap for academic improvement for the school).
  • Reviewing instructional issues and academic programs and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Annual review and approval of SIP and other school budgets.
  • STAR test preparation and analysis of results.
  • Improving communications between parents, staff, and teachers.
  • Improving overall organizational productivity and effectiveness.
  • Some of the issues we have discussed in Site Council meetings in the last year include:
  • Monitoring of the Single Plan for Student Achievement
  • Special Ed Program
  • School and District Budget Issues
  • New Language Arts Curriculum and Materials
  • Math Program/Testing
  • Faculty Peer Coaching
  • Reading Intervention Program
  • Writer's Workshop Program
