Foxtravaganza Participation Guidelines
The Foxtravaganza is Fox School's annual variety production to be held this year at the Carlmont Community Performing Arts Center. Children have the opportunity to perform before an audience with professional lights and sound! They can show their varied talents before their classmates, teachers, family and friends. It is a truly amazing experience for all of those involved and one which your child is sure to remember for a long time to come!Each grade level will have at least (1) group act, but only if there is a parent willing to lead the group. If more than (1) parent volunteers for an act they will be asked to work together to achieve a successful performance. No student will be excluded from a group act if they have signed up by the deadline. However, if a student decides to join a group after the deadline, participation is up to the leader of that group. That said, we do encourage you to include as many kids as you can.
KINDERGARTENERS may only participate in (1) act, the group act for their class.
CHORUS is for 1st through 5th graders. We encourage everyone to participate! Kids will come to the middle room during lunch recess 2 days per week. They will learn 5 or 6 songs and we will have a great time! It is a big commitment for kids to give up recess, but at show time they all feel it was worth the effort!
1st and 3rd GRADERS may participate in their grade level act as well as Chorus. There will be a boy act and girl act for each class, provided that there are parent volunteers for each.
4th and 5th GRADERS may participate in their grade level act (boy or girl) and chorus. In addition to this, these students may also audition to perform in a small group act, duet or solo. They could also choose to audition to be an MC, perform in a skit or commercial, or play an instrument. The number of additional acts in which these students participate above and beyond their grade level act and chorus will strictly depend upon time available and the overall number of students that audition. 5th Grade students will have priority for these additional acts.
Ideas
Do they like to do art? Have good writing skills? Interested in behind the scenes of a stage? Please help us to create a role for your child so that we can have something for everyone!
Time Limits
Grade level acts MUST be 2 minutes or less.
Small group acts MUST be 1 1/2 minutes or less. (This includes solos, duets, trios, skits, etc.)
Parents
Don't forget to sign up for a volunteer role in the show! There are lots of great things you can do to help! Check it out!
5th Grade Finale
ALL 5TH GRADERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 5TH GRADE FINALE! THEY WILL PRACTICE ONCE PER WEEK.
Each act must have a parent/adult responsible and present at all rehearsals! All performers must attend tech. rehearsal, dress rehearsal as well as both shows!
