Curiosity Corner is a day care center designed to meet the needs of the neighborhood community. In an atmosphere of respect and cooperation, self-discipline and creativity, the child at Curiosity Corner realizes his/her potential as a student and a person. Quality care by our staff provides for each child's needs, ensuring success and personal development. Admission to Curiosity Corner is open to all students at Fox Elementary School regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background.
The Extended Day
Curiosity Corner's afternoon program consists of thoughtfully planned activities that are interesting, challenging, and stimulating to the child's growth and development. Arts and crafts, which are unlimited in scope, include painting, clay sculpture, collages, string art, tie-dyeing, craft projects and many more experiences.
Frequent science projects and activities, as well as indoor and outdoor games, are an important part of the afternoon schedule. These games encourage good sportsmanship as well as provide fun for the participants.
Perceptual Motor Development plays a major role in the afternoon program. The children work with balls, hoops, bean bags, a parachute, and various other equipment that helps them develop strength and coordination. These activities are designed to promote self-awareness and an appreciation of individual uniqueness. Our homework hour provides time for students to complete assignments in a structured environment with adult support.
Health
Your child's health is a matter of major importance to all of us. We can only accept healthy children into the facility. Your child will be sent home if he/she appears to be ill. In case of an injury, we will make immediate attempt to contact the parent. If we can't reach the parent, we will contact the child's physician or call an ambulance or paramedic. The parent will be expected to assume responsibility for all expenses incurred. It is the responsibility of the parent to keep Curiosity Corner up to date on all pertinent information such as phone numbers and addresses. A new emergency form must be completed each year.
Authorization to pick up a child
No child will be released to a person not authorized by a parent to pick up the child. We must have advance written or verbal authorization for any changes. We do check ID.
Absences
We take attendance daily. Please call Curiosity Corner in the morning if your child is going to be absent, as this will save us time in checking on the whereabouts of your child.
Nutrition
We serve a mid-afternoon snack. Our snacks consist of juices, fruits, vegetables, cheese, crackers, and other nutritious foods. At times your child will have the opportunity to prepare and cook special foods for snack. A list of snack items is posted in our kitchen area.

Tuition
Monthly fees are due in advance on the first day of each month. Tuition paid after the 5th of the month will be subject to a $10.00 late fee. In the event of a returned check, your account will be assessed a $25.00 fee. There is no reduction in tuition for any reason. This includes absence due to illness, family vacations, or school holidays. There is a 10% reduction on tuition for families with two or more children.
We offer a 25% reduction in December (Winter Break), February (Mid-Winter Break), April (Spring Break) and June due to school vacations. Children are registered for specific time slots. Hours may not be substituted. There is no additional fee for children who attend Curiosity Corner on a regular basis when there is an early dismissal or a No School Day. We are open and provide care on these days.
Hours
We are open from 7:00 am until the start of school and from the end of Kindergarten until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All children must be picked up by 6:00 pm. There is overtime charge or $10.00 assessed for pick-up between 6:00 pm and 6:15 pm. An additional $1.00 per minute will be assessed thereafter. Payment is made at the time child is being picked up and goes directly to the adult who remains to supervise your child. Your enrollment in our program is subject to termination if your child is picked up late more than three times.
Sign-in/Sign-out
All children who attend the morning program are to be signed in by an adult. All children are to be signed out when they are picked up.
