PTA Board bios

Anne Strehlow, President
Anne is in her second year as the President of the Fox Elementary’s PTA.  In this role, she has prioritized encouraging greater awareness of the role the PTA plays in the education of our children, as well as building a strong school community by initiating school-wide family events and improving communication. 


Anne and her husband, Matt, have lived here in Belmont for nine years. They have three sons at Fox in Kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grades.  They are both coaching soccer this season and basketball this winter. In her spare time, Anne enjoys running, camping, traveling, biking with her family, and having a glass of wine with friends.


Professionally, Anne works part-time as a medical writer and editor at Stanford University.


Alya McGinlay, 1st VP, PTA Council
This is Alya’s third year on the PTA Board. As 1st VP, PTA Council, she represents Fox Elementary on the PTA Council, which is a group made up of two members from each school in the district and meets monthly to discuss best practices, get updates from the district, etc. She is excited about being a part of the decision-making process that affects our kids’ educations.


Alya and her family have lived in Belmont for over 11 years. They have a girl in 3rd grade and a boy in 1st grade.


Professionally, Alya is a Chemical Engineer and works in the Pharmaceutical industry.

 

Kristi Connelly. 2nd VP, Ways and Means
Kristi is in her second year as Vice President of Ways and Means. This role oversees the Fundraising and Spirit Wear aspects in the PTA. 


Kristi and her husband have one boy in the 5th grade at Fox Elementary. She has lived here for 13 years and loves the small town feeling of Belmont. When she is not shuttling her boy to the many activities he enjoys, she loves to read, cook, hike/walk and spend time with her family and her chosen family. 


Kristi works for the Belmont Redwood Shores School District and loves her job as a Paraeducator which she finds very rewarding. 

 

Anne Marie Nobrega, Financial Secretary

This is the second year that Anne Marie is serving on the PTA board. She enjoys her role as it involves frequent interactions with members of the Fox community. As financial secretary, she is responsible for processing incoming payments and back end financial reconciliations. Anne Marie finds volunteering to be a rewarding experience, and you’ll often find her at Fox school, where her children attend 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade.


She appreciates a warm café latte every morning, bike rides to school with her husband and kids, and social interactions with her knitting group and book club. Her free time is often spent taking her red lab for hikes, practicing yoga, or coaching soccer.

 

 

Sandra Sanvido, 3rd VP, SchoolForce
While Sandra has volunteered in many roles at Fox for the past 6 years, this is her first year on the PTA Board. As 3rd VP, SchoolForce, she represents Fox Elementary on the SchoolForce Board. She is passionate about making sure that our kids get an exceptional public education. 

 

Sandra and her husband, Marco, have lived in Belmont for 10 years. They have 2 boys; one in 4th grade and one in 6th grade at Ralston.


Professionally, Sandra is an independent CRM and Marketing Strategy Consultant.

 

 

Kaori Kobayashi, Treasurer
Kaori is looking forward to her two-year term as Treasurer of Fox Elementary's PTA. In this role, she maintains financial records, manages the budget and processes expense reimbursements for the PTA.


Kaori and her husband moved from New York five years ago. They currently live in Belmont with two children, a daughter in 3rd grade and a son in Kindergarten. Kaori is one of the Girl Scout troop leaders for Fox's 3rd grade Brownie troop, and served as Kindergarten coordinator for new families. 


Although a Psychology major in college, Kaori currently works for an accounting firm advising multinational companies on tax issues surrounding their globally mobile employees. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering in the classrooms and trying new experiences with her family. 


Stephanie Koutoulas, Secretary
Stephanie is returning to the board for her fourth year as Secretary.  She was Financial Secretary for two years and moved over to Secretary last year.  She enjoys volunteering in class on field trips as well has co-leading groups for our annual Foxtravaganza Talent Show.

 

Stephanie and her husband have been Belmont residents for 13 years. She has two boys in 5th and 1st grade at Fox and volunteers as a board member on the Belmont Redwood Shores Little League and AYSO.


Professionally, Stephanie works as a technical recruiter at Apple.


Sijen Olthof, Auditor
Sijen is delighted to serve on Fox Elementary’s PTA, helping to influence programs brought to Fox. This is her second year serving on the board as the auditor. In this role, she verifies and confirms that all expenses are being properly spent.


Sijen and her family have lived in Belmont for five years. She has two kids; her daughter is in kindergarten and her son is in 4th grade at Fox. They participate in many activities within the community.


Outside of school, Sijen enjoys spending time outdoors.  Sijen recently became the Computer Lab Teacher at Highlands Elementary School. She previously worked with, George P Johnson in event marketing, producing the world’s largest tech conference in San Francisco.


Lesley Andrews, Communications
Lesley is excited to have a new role with the Fox Elementary’s PTA this year, serving on the board as communications lead. In this role, she plans to streamline and improve communications with our parent community. Previously, Lesley represented Fox Elementary on the SchoolForce Board.


Lesley and her husband have been Belmont residents for ten years. She has two boys in 3rd and 5th grade at Fox and volunteers as a team parent for their sports teams. She also serves as an Ambassador for Donor Network West to educate the community and health care professionals about the benefits of organ donation.


Professionally, Lesley works as a marketing and business development director for a commercial real estate technology company.


Quddusa Doongerwala, Historian
Quddusa is glad to be part of the Fox PTA board again this year. She serves on the board as the Historian. As Historian, she will capture, assemble and preserve record of activities and achievements of the PTA. This will help the PTA to maintain its position as a non-profit organization.


Before this, she served as the Parliamentarian in the PTA. Last year she also organized the Parent education nights at Fox.


Quddusa and her husband have been residents of Belmont for 13 years. They have two daughters one in 4th grade and the other in 1st grade.

 

Professionally, Quddusa is a physician who practices in downtown San Mateo and works at the Mills Peninsula Health Center.

 

 

Tanya Eldershaw, Parliamentarian
The PTA Board’s purpose is to execute on decisions made by the PTA members. The role of the Parliamentarian is mainly to serve as the President's advisor regarding the parliamentary process and the PTA bylaws. Tanya also continues on the Registration and Directory committees this year and previously served on the Fox Board as 1st V.P./Council rep and on the BRS PTA Council as Treasurer.


Tanya and her husband Craig have lived in Belmont for 10 years. They have one daughter who is a 4th grader at Fox this year. They believe strongly that community and diversity are important to the success of our children.

 

Professionally, Tanya is a consultant for electronic and software product compliance in the areas of safety, privacy, electromagnetic compatibility and sustainability for global markets.

 

David Elliott, Membership
David joins the board in a new role with the Fox Elementary’s PTA this year, serving as the membership chair. In this role, David aims to help grow our PTA membership and help parents understand the benefits that come with being a PTA member. 
 
David and his wife Sarah have been Belmont residents for five years - Sarah has deep Belmont roots as she was born and raised here and is herself a graduate of Fox. We have a son in 3rd grade and a daughter in 1st.  David loves coaching his son's and daughter's sports teams and serves on the Belmont Redwood Shores Little League Board. 
 
Professionally, David works for an educational technology company that creates programs to assist students who need help in Language Arts and Math. He also advises a non-profit organization that helps low-income and first-generation students with the college admissions process.
